Projects

Established in 1995, G. Sexton & Partners are Chartered Engineers and Fire Safety Consultants providing expert technical consultancy services covering all aspects of Fire Safety from the overall fire safety design assessment of buildings through to fire safety management practices.

G. Sexton & Partners consider technical guidance on fire safety at three different levels. This permits cost effective fire safety design solutions to be developed that corresponds to the complexity of the building and to the degree of flexibility required.

1) General Approach

In this case the fire precautions designed into the building follow the guidance contained in Technical Guidance Documents which set out ‘deemed to satisfy’ methods of complying with Building Regulations.

Refer to Services page for further details of Services offered.

2) Advanced Approach

Using advanced Codes based on Fire Engineering principles, such as BS9999. Guidance provided in this area gives a more transparent and flexible approach to fire safety design through the use of a structured approach to risk-based design where varying physical and human factors can be taken into account.

3) Fire Safety Engineering

This level provides an alternative approach to fire safety and can be the only practical way to achieve a satisfactory standard of fire safety in some large and complex buildings. Fire Safety Engineering can be used to realise architectural designs that would not otherwise be permitted by Standard or Advanced Codes. Fire Safety Engineering can also deliver cost effective design solutions in comparison to Standard or Advanced Codes.

The practice also has AutoCad facilities to allow the use of Architect's drawings in developing fire safety design solutions.
